Nice Sprites is an ongoing series imagining folkloric and fantasy characters inspired by videogames, tarot cards, anime and illustration.
The first character of the series, created as part of the Bleach London Creative Fund shortlist renders a fantastical swamp sprite, drenched in luminous colour and submerged in a glistening, magical pool. Set within a tarot card style frame she becomes an invocation, transforming into a magical character ready to be conjured and a fantastical alter ego to be invoked.
