BETWEEN WORLDS

2022, Digital Performance, 00:25:00

Developed whilst in residence at London’s V&A Museum and premiered as part of their Performance Festival, Between Worlds is a spellbinding infusion of aerial performance with digital projection. Using the artist’s mixed heritage as a point of entry, Between Worlds explores thresholds and what it means to exist in-between. It merges botanical imagery from the V&A’s China and British collections, digitally transforming and overlaying them onto the suspended performers. The work includes bespoke costumes handmade by the artist, inspired by Chinese cloud collars and adorned in custom prints mirroring the digital projection's botanical subjects.
