SPORE

2020, Video, 02:40 loop

‘Spore’ explores digital simulation, replication and recreation via photogrammetric scanning. Utilising computer-generated texture files produced by photogrammetric scans of plants and flowers the work abstracts these images, merging and morphing them together to create a continual loop of distorted and digitised nature. ‘Spore’ investigates how computers understand and perceive reality, translating these linear and digital interpretations into an ever-shifting cacophony of abstracted colour and texture.
